• Administer oncologic medications and cellular therapies while monitoring for adverse reactions and treating with supportive medications
• Maintain knowledge of current oncology treatment and care through conference attendance and completion of learning modules
• Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing interventions based on patient acuity levels and individual needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
• Skillfully manage challenging patient situations using de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and therapeutic communication skills.
• Maintain thorough, accurate and confidential documentation using EPIC software
• Adhere to infection control procedures to maintain a safe, clean patient environment
• Serve as a patient advocate by supporting and respecting basic rights, values and beliefs
• Enhance patient satisfaction by providing compassionate, holistic and culturally-congruent nursing care that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Provide support for patients and their families during difficult medical decisions or end-of-life care, serving as a liaison between the healthcare team and loved ones.
• Assist in the training and mentorship of new nursing staff members, contributing to a positive work environment and high-quality patient care.
