Conducts confidential and sensitive investigative work into allegations of abuse or neglect of individuals with developmental disabilities. Investigates all violations of employee misconduct and removing accused staff from duty to maintain client protection. Ordering medical examines of victims. Collect evidence and relevant documents pertinent to cases. Securing crime scenes and maintaining chain of custody for evidence collected. Documenting crime scenes and injuries with photographic evidence. Completes a thorough investigation into all allegations including interviewing witnesses and victims, preparing final review reports and recommending conclusions. Acts as the facility liaison to the Office of Inspector General and Illinois State police. Conducts and completes investigations within OIG an IDPH timeframe guidelines. Train facility staff in OIG rule of 50 Abuse and Neglect. Reports and investigates deaths within timelines per OIG and IDPH.

Supervising direct care staff providing personal care, treatment and development to individuals with disabilities, serving as the supervisor for the entire facility during weekend and afterhours. Conducting unit rounds to observe staff interactions and maintain client protection. Assign duties to staff and maintain staffing levels. Enforce SODC policies and procedures to maintain client protection. Resolve issues between staff and report allegations of abuse and/or neglect should they arise. Remove potentially violent or neglectful staff from duty and ensure the health and safety of all individual served.

Under a physicians order collects blood samples for individuals with developmental disabilities, using a vacutainer collection system as per specimen requirements. Centrifuged blood samples as outlined in clinical protocols. Prepared samples for transport to The University of Chicago Laboratory. Reviewed patient records for accuracy and completeness. Maintained current with ICD-10 coding and requirements. Maintain current with all SODC trainings including but not limited to OIG Rule 50 Abuse and Neglect.
