Through my time in Hawaii, I learned the importance of 'human connections.' In a multicultural environment, I realized that collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives enables us to achieve outcomes that would be impossible to accomplish alone. My work experience in the restaurants also reinforced the significance of human connections. In front-of-house duties, I learned that building trust with customers directly translates to improved service. By understanding what customers wanted and responding promptly and courteously, I was able to increase the number of repeat visitors. In parallel with my studies, I continued practicing Kendo, which I had started in my childhood, on a weekly basis in Hawaii. Through Kendo, I met many people, taught classes, and participated in competitions. This experience helped me develop adaptability and leadership skills in a multicultural environment. The opportunity to connect with others through the traditional Japanese martial art of Kendo, despite language and cultural barriers, has given me an international perspective and flexible communication skills. I aspire to contribute to society's growth by utilizing the cross-cultural adaptability, leadership, perseverance, and practical skills I have gained thus far. I am confident that my experience of overcoming a language barrier and continuously challenging myself overseas will enable me to proactively respond to any situation and achieve meaningful results.
