In the restaurant business it’s about providing the guests with service to remember, loving what you do and up selling. My way of building a strong rapport with guests is simple, remember the regular’s names, knowing what they usually order and anticipating their needs. I smile a lot because I am a happy person and that’s something guests often remember about me. I love people and giving them an experience that makes them want to keep coming back.

  • As a floor server I had help from the hosts and runners
  • Someone to greet and seat my guests, drop off our 200+ item menus and utensils until
  • We were sat accordingly in our 6 table sections
  • Moving into Cocktail is polar opposite than being on the floor
  • Cocktail is an area where guests seat themselves, servers do everything without the help of a hostess and food runner
  • In cocktail you can have up to10 tables
  • Busted and cleaned our own tables

  • With both roles of floor and cocktail I was shift leader, opener and closer of the restaurant
