RAPHAEL TAN

Summary

My journey in healthcare began as a Nurse Aide at Altres Medical, where I developed a deep commitment to the well-being of those in my care. The roots of my passion for nursing trace back to my formative years in the United States. At the age of 11, I became my grandmother’s caregiver, navigating language barriers and various challenges. This early experience shaped my understanding of compassionate healthcare and fueled my desire to make a meaningful impact in the field.

Joining Altres Medical and working at Lunalilo Homes allowed me to integrate my caregiving experience into my professional role. This journey—marked by resilience and cultural adaptation—has inspired me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Hawaii Pacific University.

As a Nurse Aide, I take on diverse responsibilities at Lunalilo Homes, supported by certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and continuous education in caregiver skills. Additionally, earning the Seal of Biliteracy has affirmed my proficiency in both English and Tagalog, further enhancing my ability to connect with patients from different backgrounds.

My story is one of resilience, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to healthcare excellence. With this foundation, I look forward to making a lasting impact on those I serve and contributing meaningfully to the healthcare field.
