orange award for Customer Service

While I was working for ING/Reliastar I worked in an inbound call center for employee benefits as well as some older life and accidental death policies from Reliastar. One of my elderly customers was having issues navigating the porting process after their term policy expired. They were more comfortable face to face and wanted to deal directly with me. Much to my surprise, they ended up driving nearly a thousand miles to Minneapolis to meet me. This was unexpected and unprecedented. I got pulled into the corporate conference room when I arrived at work one day, with my managers, a representative from underwriting; as well as an executive. We met to discuss the customers concerns, and guide them to a path that met their desires and the companies best suited options. Overall it was a fun, human experience that reflected how I felt about our customers, meeting them as an old friend and building important long term healthy relationships.
