Death Penalty Defense Seminar
- Current
  • I am currently enrolled in a year long death penalty defense seminar where we gain clinical experience by working hands on with clients facing the death penalty at Angola. It is taught by Cecelia Kappel and we each have our own semester-long research project on a client and ways in which they should have their death penalty sentence overturned.

  • I served on Student Government at Illinois State University as an Ex-Officio for my organization Student’s Ending Rape Culture. I was the first person to have this position and my role was to advocate for survivors of sexual violence on campus. I spent a year working on getting the organization to a position because I believed it was an important voice to have.

  • I was a medical and legal advocacy intern for Stepping Stones, a rape crisis center designed to support survivors of relationship violence through anything they may need free of charge. I attended trials and medical visits as a person of support and observed when clients went through the process of getting a no-contact order. This internship reaffirmed to me that I want a career in providing support to demographics that are most vulnerable.
