  • Installing and torquing photovoltaic panels onto next tracker racking system. My work consisted and was not limited to having daily safety meetings and discussing the activities for the day, inspecting all work tools and heavy equipment including skid steers prior to begin work and making sure we had all the proper materials to carry out our craft. I would fill out all equipment inspections and a proper STA explaining tasks that needed to be carried out for the day including potential safety hazards that could put me and the crew at risk as well as how to prevent those hazards in order to work and complete our tasks in a safe, effective and timely manner. Daily activities consisted of installing PV panels onto racking, tightening and torquing them to spec afterwards. I also double checked for loose or untorqued bolts and or any damaged or broken brackets, fasteners, bha's. After installation and torque we made sure all torqued bolts are marked prior to being checked by QC to pass inspection. Always made sure everyone stayed hydrated during the hot months of summer to avoid heat illness as well as dressing appropriately for the cold temperatures to work comfortably in cold temperatures while staying hydrated as well. Another important factor was being alert for the wildlife around us while working as this could put the crew and wildlife itself in danger. Anytime there was an encounter with wildlife we would notify higher management and they wood take care of it the right way. Having good housekeeping during and after installation was also a priority to avoid potential hazards to crew and finished product and to maintain a clean presentable site. I also had the opportunity to gather some experience from the electrical craft due to our mechanical craft catching up to piles. All this other experience is up for discussion upon request.

  • Started off with civil then ventured into PV installation using the game change genius tracker system. Daily craft activities included attending safety meetings and stretch prior to begin my work day. Inspect all machinery, tools and materials for the days task. Prior to beginning work I had to fill out our STA explaining what the task for the day was along with potential hazards and how we would avoid them to carry out our activity in a safe, productive and timely manner. Our activities for the day consisted of placing and installing pv panels onto racking making sure they align flushly then proceed to fastening, torquing and finally marking down torqued bolts for future inspection. We made sure to clean up as we installed and picked up any loose bolts long the way. Housekeeping was important to avoid potential work or environmental/wildlife hazards that could put us in danger.
