Under the direction of the Lead Research Pharmacist (or similar) and the Principal/Sub Investigators, conducts the following according to study protocol, company processes and procedures, and in compliance with GCP, ICH, HIPAA, FDA, USP 797, USP 800, state Boards of Pharmacy, and company SOPs:

• Integration of investigational medication use, pharmacy workflow, subject medication safety activities, and regulatory standards.

Coordinating and advising site staff on drug distribution services for investigational medications.

• Identify and justify the needs for additional resources, or redeploy resources in new ways to meet those needs.

• Prepares, labels (if required), and dispenses investigational medications, and provides drug-related information and education for subjects and site staff.
• Dispenses controlled substances as part of a research study. Maintains appropriate inventory records, documentation of receipt, and ensures proper storage conditions.
• Ensures safety and care for all research subjects as they relate to investigational medication preparation and dispensing.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals, which contribute to the success of the organization; and serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

• Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and in accordance with state regulations & standards
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct dosages of medications
• Accurately labels and packages medications
• Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication related incidents
• Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance
• Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized
• Inspects equipment and documents any equipment failures or defects
• Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs

• Process human tissue in an aseptic processing environment (lab) according to standard operating procedures and work instructions using surgical instruments and machinery
• Perform any one or all of the routine tissue processes (e.g
• Dissection, layout, cutting, and vialing), as per required specifications, within expected processing times in order to meet production schedules
• Adhere to all policies and practices from the Quality Management System (QMS) based on company standards and regulatory standards for tissue processing
• Document results of each process performed, supplies used, etc
• To maintain integrity and traceability of donor
• Enter relevant data from tissue processing record into company specific database
• Monitor, maintain, and clean processing facility and equipment
• Support and contribute new ideas to the continuous tissue processing improvement efforts
• Monitor tissue processing supplies and notify management when supplies are needed; restock supplies

• Assist the pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care to all patients by performing technical duties in the pharmacy department, working under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and/or the Technician Supervisor
• Cabinet replenishment (Omni Cell, Pyxis)
• Load patient specific meds
• Collect returned patient meds./ discharged and or transferred
• Check in patient home meds for storage in pharmacy or for administration
• IV and Chemo Certified
• Specialty IV Admixture (Chemotherapy, Intrathecal, Epidural, Sterile Syringes, IVIG etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge of USP797 requirements
• Some Narc training (fill patient specific meds
• And or return/ load meds
• To specific units)

• Competent in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations in compliance with USP797 and USP800 guidelines, including but not limited to TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy
• Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Assists with maintaining adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established inventory control levels
• Assist with the management of the automated dispensing machines reporting for quality and regulatory measures
• Assists with pharmacy workflow by streamlining phone calls to the appropriate staff member; and delivery of patient specific medications to departments throughout the facility
• Participation in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs with an emphasis on patient safety, and regulatory compliance
• Assists with regulatory required monthly unit inspections for all departments that stock medications
• Contributes to the effective operation of the department

• Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy
• Reviews and complies with the Walgreen Co
• Pharmacy Code of Conduct
• Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions
• Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
• Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
• Strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co
• Policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities
• Responsible and accountable for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required
• Takes customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
• Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
