A motivated student looking to further extended my knowledge and gain experience in the ever changing world of conservation biology, specifically in the interest of wildlife biology and ecology. I am passionate about preserving the natural world from human destruction and learning as much as I can about wildlife and marine organisms. Through working with The University of Tennessee Southern, I was able to extraction DNA from sea urchins located in Trinidad and Tobago and successfully identify them in hopes of saving the are in which they live from local construction.
Utilized various techniques for DNA extraction and analysis on sea urchin spines collected in southeastern Trinidad and Tobago with the goal of successful organism identification.
Presented undergraduate research of sea urchin DNA extraction and analysis at the Association of Southeastern Biologist (ASB) conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
