Heart of Hospice, Hospice Volunteer of Year,

I was a Hospice volunteer from 1995-2015. I would stay with patients so their primary care giver could rest, run errands. Sometimes I would stay with patients at least 12 hours. I enjoyed working with hospice patients. I became friend with many family members and patients. My last 2 patients were my best friend. I stayed with her for a year and 1/2. She passed away on February 2, 2024 and recently it was my spouse that passed away on March 10, 2025. That is why I need a different job. To keep me busy and still meet people. Thank you
