With solid experience in building and managing successful teams, and planning and completing projects, I have worked in every division as well as attachments to the FBI and County Attorney, giving me a unique and wholistic view of the Sheriff's Office. I am dedicated to carrying the message and mission of the Sheriff's Office to our staff and the community we serve, with professionalism and respect.

Acting Commander - Training and Staff Development

  • Oversee planning and implementation of training. Ensure compliance with Minnesota POST Board mandates, statutory requirements, agency policies, and best practices in law enforcement training. Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Training Unit, supporting the professional development of staff.
  • Administer Victim/Witness funds associated with the CAO Non-Fatal Shooting Initiative.

Acting Commander – Youth Engagement and administration of Victim/Witness Safety funds

  • Develop Youth Engagement programming and establish new Youth Engagement Center. Work with internal and community groups to provide positive steps toward quality-of-life improvement for criminally involved youth and those on the fringes of criminal involvement.
  • Develop a system for administering Victim/Witness funds associated with the CAO Non-Fatal Shooting Initiative and facilitate the program which is slated to continue through 2028.

  • Work with Ramsey County Attorney’s Office leadership and partner agencies to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of violence reduction strategies throughout Ramsey County, and lead the development of recommendations on related policies, procedures, and services. Strategies of focus include non-fatal shooting investigation and prosecution, and focused deterrence.

Accomplishments

  • While assigned to the County Attorney's Office, I lead the research and development of recommendations on policies, procedures, and services to increase the rate of solving non-fatal shootings and reducing violence in Ramsey County.
  • While assigned to the Apprehension Bureau in several supervisory roles, I played a part in developing teams that continue to have a significant impact on the reduction in auto theft, carjacking, and gun crimes in Ramsey County.
  • While assigned to the Office of Information and Technology, I lead the research, purchase and installation of the Electronic Crimes Unit Server system, and shepherded the competitive process of testing and purchasing new radios for the Sheriff's Office.
