Work History

Executive Assistant to Chief Risk Officer

Morgan Stanley, Wealth Management
New York, NY
12.2006 - 01.2009
  • Managed multiple calendars for the highest executives of this multinational financial services company with $60B in annual revenue, serving as their representative to 75,000 employees in over 40 countries. Ensured the smooth and efficient time organization crucial to the execution of their complicated schedules, developed worldwide corporate calendar, oversaw and facilitated weekly meetings of all Operating and Management Committee members. Mastered multiple software systems, handled personal trading with discretion and confidentiality, managed complex expenses and cross-trained to perform duties of all C-Level assistants, working at various times for the CFO, CLO, COO, President, and CEO John Mack.

  • Managed security pass access for executive floor, initiated all move management requests, oversaw new employee orientation, including staff IDs, credentials, data access, background checks, and security staffing. Oversaw fundraisers and social events for U.S. Presidents and members of congress.

  • On September 29, 2008, at the height of the financial crisis, with stock prices collapsing and the future of the firm in doubt, MUFG Bank, Japan's largest bank, invested $9 billion in a direct purchase of a 21% ownership stake in Morgan Stanley. The payment from MUFG was supposed to be wired electronically; however, because it needed to be made on an emergency basis on Columbus Day when banks were closed in the US, MUFG cut a US$9 billion physical check, the largest amount ever written via physical check at the time. As the trusted representative of the Chief Risk Officer, I took personal custody of this famous check and oversaw its delivery to the Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, a race against time that successfully ended the firm's greatest market crisis.
