Restructured organization and utilized a community policing model to ensure that we met the needs of all. Established a Community Focus Group to guide and direct the department in a meaningful way. Structured the organization to meet the various demands of an agency that responded to over 60,000 calls for service each year. Enhanced training opportunities, school based programs, citizen police academy sessions and joined several regional community based organizations. Implemented body worn cameras, assessed and monitored use of force incidents, enhanced training opportunities, implemented Mounted Unit, Student Internship Program and partnered with Project TIPS in city neighborhoods.
