I have been in the Fire Service since I was 18 years old and am still dedicated to our profession. My service began as a volunteer in 1992 and became a career firefighter in 1994 but have always remained a volunteer in my home community. During my tenure, I have held many positions from firefighter, lieutenant, captain, assistant chief of training and now assistant chief of operations. In my tenure in Henry, I have seen the organization grow from 70 members in nine firehouses to almost 400 in 16 firehouses running close to 40,000 alarms per year. As the senior assistant chief on staff, I work closely with the chiefs of EMS, Logistics, Prevention and Training to ensure that our members are well equipped, well trained and well prepared to deliver the best service possible to our citizens. My current job is to also work closely with media relations to always portray the department in the brightest and best light while working with the other divisions in the county to build positive and productive relationships. I am have been a lead instructor at the Metro Atlanta Firefighters Conference for the last seven years and an adjunct instructor for the Georgia Fire Academy for the last 30 years.
My wife and I have been married for 28 years with one son who will be joining the Marines in the fall. My wife is currently the director of Jasper County E911. We have lived in Flovilla since 2001.
