  • Contributed to the development of robotic system for creating cooling ducts in high precision parts using laser drilling.
  • Implemented motion planning algorithms for an M20ID robot for ultrasonic imaging and drilling.
  • Setup and tested hardware system in collaboration with GE Global Research Center to validate performance and deployability.

Automated Induction Welding                                                                                                                                  August 2021 – December 2021

  • Contributed to the development of motion planner for induction welding robot.
  • Engineered a smart laser line following system to align the induction welding tool along the seam for dynamic process control and better weld quality.
  • Integrated final software packages as deliverables for the ARM funded project.

Mobile Autonomous Industrial Disinfector (MAID)                                                                                                     October 2020 – August 2021

  • Developed an automated mobile robotic solution for disinfecting high traffic work areas in collaboration with Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories and South West Research Institute.
  • Implemented and optimized a set cover algorithm to calculate suitable viewpoints to place the arm such that the UV disinfectant end effector can reach occluded spaces.
  • Created a sampling-based algorithm to calculate optimum position of the mobile manipulator, facilitating the mounted robotic arm to reach the optimum viewpoints.
  • Oversaw the integration of various software modules coming from the different project participants.
