-Element I-Ability to isolate and analyze relevant data to conduct analyses of complex Issues:
Managing Fairchild's subnets and updating topologies is a critical part to efficiently maintain and troubleshoot the network on a daily basses. By keeping this data accurate I hasten not only my response, but my teams response to any issue affecting on the network. These skills enhance my data analysis time which allows quick isolation and identification of any problems both simple and complex.
-Element II - Ability to develop/administer standards, training plans, and directing/prioritizing tasks:
Task prioritization comes with knowing my assets and their relevance to the mission at hand, and by understanding this I can accurately choose the correct tasks to be accomplished. This knowledge of location importance goes hand in hand with security operations. Network health and compliance is also dictated by STIG/AFI based documentation and by understanding the bases needs I am able to both create both new standards and develop future best practices. Lastly as an NCO I'm familiar with teaching both job related and professional standards to technicians and developing training for continuity of operations.
-Element III - Ability to read, understand and administer Air Force Instructions (AFIs), laws and directives:
Proper adherence to rules and regulations dictated by Air Force guidance is a key factor to my day to day operations and the success of the overall mission. A primary example of executing the mission in accordance with AFIs was the installation/unit move of the 141st MDG and separation of network traffic to eliminate PII from leaking into the Fairchild weapon systems network.
-Element IV - Ability to communicate, both oral/written, with diverse audiences to include senior leadership and HHQs:
Provided Level 1 troubleshooting for 609 CAOC, 92/141 Fairchild user base as Communications Focal Point team lead, and as a trained NCO in both 92nd/141st SCOI shops. The user base ranged anywhere from airman to a 2 star general. My ability to execute under stress and relay information to any and all ranks has been refined and tested extensively.
-Element V - Ability to effectively lead personnel and provide advice and guidance to customers:
I have led multiple base wide inspection teams. This involved site surveys, distributing tasks, and providing multiple layouts to the customer base to support the most ideal layout for the inspection team setup. Finally, I explain all available services and work to create solutions to assure their mission success.
-Element VI - Ability to identify unit-level weaknesses and develop effective solutions:
Coaching future NCO on self improvement tactics to meet and prove readiness for the next level of service. I worked to create more public speaking opportunities for him to present in meeting environments. Workshopped multiple tactics on how to relay information in a more structured and concise manner when presenting to leadership.
-Element VII - Knowledge of current cyber security missions, regulations, and tactics across the Air Force and DoD:
As a network infrastructure technician I've used Forescout to ensure comply to connect and zero trust based network policies on Fairchild's network. I've worked to remediate vulnerabilities in accordance with STIG, AFBAN, and CORA preparations standards. As a Communications Focal Point lead I've provided professional customer services to ensure expedient solutions for both SIPR and NIPR requirements, as well as relaying a clear understanding throughout the troubleshooting process. One example of current cyber security tactics that I was involved with was creation of Foreign National accounts and email based permissions to restrict leaking any information to foreign adversaries.
