Learns and implements behavior management procedures, training programs, policies and procedures. To develop the positive interactions and communication of disabled individuals.
Works one on one or in a group directly with disabled adults to facilitate their success, by giving them hands on training. To improve methods and techniques in all skill areas. This includes activities of daily living, community access and other appropriate training and coaching. Methods and skills shall be demonstrated using repetition so it creates new habits and skills.
Assists clients during breaks and lunch.
Participates in taking disabled individuals out to community activities, manages client money in accordance with established procedures.
Learns agency standards and becomes familiar with the population being served along with the individual specific programs and goals.
Maintains positive relationships with clients, parents, guardians, residential staff, and other agencies, to implement services to clients. Participates as needed in interdisciplinary team meetings, ISP process, team meetings, and prepares all associated written documentation (i.e written narratives and reports,etc. ) Communicates problems to supervisor and/or senior staff as required.
Attends all agency meetings and trainings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting the needs if individuals with disabilities in accordance with state and agency requirements and protocols.
