Production Superintendent

  • I was with this company for 12 years and the last role I held was of Production Superintendent. I held this role for nearly 3 years, and before I held this position, I was a Butter Supervisor. I started my career at CDI in 2013 as a benhil operator and was offered the opportunity to learn the churns within a few months of my employment. I was churn operator for about a year and in 2015 the opportunity for a butter foreman was available, and I was promoted. In 2016, I stepped down from my foreman position and got a position in the P6 control room. I made this move to learn about other parts of the plant and give myself a better chance at getting promoted to management if the opportunity was to arise. While in the control room, I learned about P7 and E8 evaporators, along with the P6 dryer. The opportunity for butter room supervisor came in 2018, and I was promoted. In late 2022, I was then promoted to the Production Superintendent position. In this role, I had a supervisor and 2 foremen under my leadership. Managed 12 butter lines and 3 robot operators, along with 2 churn operators. Led the AMF department that produced butter oil with a mix of full-time and temporary employees. Coached employees, issued disciplinary actions, and prepared attendance memos. Employee training via PowerPoint presentations and testing and partnership with our training team. I was also responsible for USDA, CDFA, and customer audits along SQF and IQF audits. Ensured compliance with GMP and PPE policies, maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the production process. Coordinated the onboarding process for new employees by collaborating with the training team and assigning them to machines with experienced operators while tracking their progress. Conducted investigations into deviations from product standards, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. These were just some of my responsibilities in this role, which also included attendance reports, pass downs with maintenance and incoming shift personnel. Maintaining every 2 hours reporting of machine speeds and any mechanical issues or breakdowns.
