- In the inbound process,I lock out my trailer using a dock lock system. I verify that the tandems on the trailer are slid to the rear and that the truck has disconnected and moved to the designated waiting area before entering the trailer. I verify freight and then label each pallet accordingly. I then select an available drive in bay to load the freight into. Each pallet is scanned into the bay using an onboard RF scanner. The bays are very narrow and are 5 tiers high. Requiring care and precision operating to not damage the products.
- In the outbound process, I lock out my trailer using a dock lock system. I verify that the tandems on the trailer are slid to the rear and that the truck has disconnected and moved to the designated waiting area before entering the trailer. I scan my order ticket with an onboard RF scanner and read from an onboard computer what locations to pull pallets of products from in the warehouse. I travel to each location and carefully remove a pallet. I lower the pallet to the floor and scan the LPN tag to verify it in our system. I then verify each pallet to the designated dock door and load the products into an outbound trailer. Not all loads are the same. Care and experience are required to assure that each load is patterned correctly to distribute weight accordingly through out the tractor trailer.
