Thirty-eight years of experience in the livestock industry including twenty-five years in livestock marketing, sales, procurement, and customer service. Ten years’ experience in risk management using the futures markets, including three years as a licensed commodity broker and four years as a business manager. Twelve and a half years experience in developing and implementing cow-calf health and management improvement programs. Over one and a half years as national sales manager developing and maintaining key accounts for livestock support products. Included in this experience have been: Thirty-seven years of working with customers, building relationships, addressing their needs, solving and servicing complaints and finding solutions to their problems. Eight years working with ranchers and feedyards to develop information feedback systems. Four and a half years working with Cargill’s Sharing Total Added Value (STAV) alliance program for cow-calf operators. Speaker at the Texas A&M Extension Service’s “Beef Quality Assurance (BQA)” programs, the Luling Foundation’s “Beef Improvement Seminar”, Texas Christian University’s Ranch Management Institute “Bull Selection Seminar” and a guest lecturer for TCU’s Ranch Management Program. Three and a half years serving as administrator of value-added health programs for calves. Speaker for the Nevada Cattlemen’s Association, the New Mexico State Bull Test Center at Tucumcari, New Mexico and at the Natchitoches, Louisiana Cattlemen’s meetings addressing the improvement of calf crop immunities. Two years as Operations Manager at Cactus Feedyard managing all aspects of the feedyard through 6-line managers and 4 foreman and approximately 50 additional employees. Two years as Sales and Marketing Manager for Carmel Industries Livestock Division developing and maintaining key accounts for livestock marker products. Four and a half years as Business Manager at Riverby Land and Cattle Co. procuring cattle, developing key customer accounts, building relationships with suppliers and building a team atmosphere for the management personnel that were in place.
