After retiring from a 32-year tenure at Ford Motor Co., I started my retirement fun job working for St. William Catholic Church where I leveraged my skills in cleaning, sanitizing, and preventive maintenance. I took this part time job seriously with responsibility and an ability to work independently, I efficiently managed event setups and maintenance, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for the community. My dedication to customer service and facility upkeep made a significant impact. Self-starting Custodian with team player mentality. Skilled at staying on task and meeting deadlines.
After retiring from Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Michigan, for 32 years, I went to work a steady three days a week at St. William Church. I would always pitch in on weekends as well if needed.
I would spend 8 hours or more a day cleaning and maintaining a safe school, cafeteria, offices, activity center, church, and church hall.
I set up events, positioning chairs, tables, furnishings, decorations and food. Also did the take down and cleaning of events .
I also set up the weekly church bingo events every Thursday, and took it all down on Saturday.
Set up and took down lunch tables every day.
Assisted in setting up for funeral lunches. Tables chairs as well as bringing in and setting up displays for the funeral flowers and pictures for the deseased family and friends.
Set ups for school assemblies, bake sales, music events, and of course every day events.
It was a busy and active church/school with a lot going on.
If any problems arose around the school, or the rectory I would always help mop, or clean right away.
