  • As the Ryan White Peer Navigator, I enrolled HIV clients into the Ryan White program to initiate treatment and monitor compliance. I also enrolled clients into ADAP to obtain HIV meds. I had a caseload of clients who needed HIV medications, dental and HIV related specialist treatment. Education and periodic follow-up was an integral part of enrollment in the Ryan White program.

  • I was associated with Fitzgerald and Fitzgerald specializing in medical malpractice and lead paint. I appeared in depositions, court hearings, conferences and motions.

  • I was an Assistant Corporation Counsel and Trial Specialist in the Queens Unit.
  • Conducted thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy formulation.

Attorney

NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development

  • I served as a Staff Attorney/Prosecutor at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development. I investigated violations of the Housing Maintenance Code and Multiple Dwelling Law. During the winter months, our focus was on failure to provide heat and hot water. Non-compliance was enforced with civil penalties and contempt proceedings.
  • In addition, violations for Lead Paint were investigated and litigated. The remedy of Orders to Correct and Contempt actions were used to compel compliance. While correction of housing code violations was the primary mission of the agency, Fair Housing and Public Accommodation Discrimination were inextricably intertwined in the relief sought in compliance actions.
