As an Executive Administrator for the Enhanced Support Zone, My primary focus is to help schools continuously improve. I support schools by, strengthening the development of the principal through weekly school visits that is comprised of coaching and actionable feedback, ensuring that sustainable and effective systems are in place, identifying and removing systemic barriers, strengthening instructional practices that leads to better student outcomes through classroom observations and PLCs, and establishing a culture of high expectations. I also assist principals by looking at the schools data to data to identify, prioritize, and address school-level needs.
As a school turnaround specialist I act as catalysts for change. I help in restructuring leadership, implementing data-driven instruction, improving staff effectiveness, and addressing safety and emotional needs fo all students and their families. My supports consist of implementing, monitoring, and sustaining strategic reforms. I work closely with central office and school staff to analyze data, enhance instructional quality, build leadership capacity, and foster school culture improvement.
During my tenure in JCPS, the Enhanced Support Zone has exited over 25 schools that were in the bottom 5% of the state out of CSI or MRI status.
In 2017, the Illinois State Board of Education, presented the Office of School Turnaround Team the Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contributions to Illinois Education.
