Skilled in troubleshooting and workplace safety, I leveraged my expertise at Comfort Technologies to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards. My background includes extensive experience in HVAC-R systems, preventive maintenance, and leading teams to exceed project goals, demonstrating a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments.
Read blueprints, and organize a plan to assign members of my crew with task to make the jobsite reflect what the print shows. Order supplies as needed, anything from sheet metal, ducting, copper tubing, unistrut, alrod and any other supplies needed. Assemble sheet metal ducting and install accordingly. Brazing copper tubing, pro-press copper tubing. Work with cranes to install rooftop air conditioning units.
Answer maintenance calls. Repair conveyance belts, shafts and sprockets. Adjust C02 and nitrogen levels on ilapak bagging machines. Adjust and replace sensors. Fabricate parts for all machines. Take daily reports throughout plant. Perform calibration test for flour, corn, oil, water and gram weights for product accuracy.
Maintain and operate the Lamination Department. Work with printers and lamination machines as well as line rollers. Operate and maintain Vareo book binding machines. Handle outbound dock bol sheets as well as operate forklifts to load newly made books into an outbound truck. Managing people to have little to no interruption of plant production. Also as a training ambassador I had to teach new hires how to operate the machines, while processing a very extensive training module via kindle to amazons database. Everything is documented so it makes it easier to know exactly what all of the people working under you know how and have been trained to do.
Install and diagnose residential HVAC split systems.
Install residential and commercial split system, rooftop package units and mini split systems. Assist with service calls and preventative maintenance contracts.
Monitor Ammonia, C02, PPA and temperature within the plant. Make manual adjustments to expansion valves or other components of the refrigeration system to maintain the desired ranges. Monitor suction, liquid psi and temp along with oil psi and temp. Diagnose issues with the refrigeration, hot/cold water and make necessary repairs or adjustments. Make adjustments to exhaust fans to keep the correct air flow and temperature through the plant. Replace 3 phase electric motors as needed both in pumps and fans. Clean condenser and evap coils weekly to ensure proper air flow. Diagnose frozen coils and take necessary steps to safely defrost the coils. The plant used a hot gas defrost setup that was on a manual valve. Work with contractors to repair any problems around the plant. Problems could be anything from a coil leaking to a blown hermatic recip/screw compressor. Performed weekly preventative maintenance on the areas I was assigned. It was a big job as there were 3 plants connected as 1 but only 2 specialty refrigeration mechanics on staff. P.M.'s included inspecting and changing belts, motors, greasing bearings, inspecting shafts to see if they needed replacing.
Install commercial and residential HVAC-R systems. I also ran service calls to diagnose systems. Some were repairable some required total replacement, which I had to issue quotes and estimates for.
Install commercial refrigeration walk in/reach in coolers. Mainly beer stores, gas stations. Residential HVAC work when the refrigeration work was slow.
Installed refrigeration cases, walk in/reach in coolers in Kroger grocery stores. Maintained and ran P.M.'s on stores we had either built or remodeled. this was my first job in hvac-r industry. Mickey and casey norman (stepson)taught me more than i learned anywhere else, I ran copper tubing insolated with ap armaflex now known in the industry as insultube. Brazing, nitrogen psi testing, pulling H.G. vacuum (H.G. inches of mercury). I ran a little service towards the end.
