What started as singing in church turned into a passion for Ruby. Today, she writes and records some of her own musical content, and continues to promote her musical gifts on all social media platforms.
Ruby has devoted lots of her time to commiting acts of service for others.
- She started off in middle school and high school mentoring at a performing arts camp every summer from 2015-2018. Here she participated in things like teaching 1st-5th graders step class, and voice lessons.
- In 2018, she participated in the March for our Lives rally in D.C. after the violent and tragic school shooting that claimed 17 lives. She protested for gun control, and sang background for artists such as Vic Mensa and Jennifer Hudson
- In high school, she spent time after school volunteering at the girls and boys club from 2018-2020. She would look after the kids after school and make sure they were fed, got their homework done, and had play time.
- In 2019, Ruby spent time volunteering weekly at the Laurel homeless shelter where she assisted in making dinner to serve the homeless.
- Ruby has dedicatedly served in church for her entire life. As a child, she served in the childrens ministry doing things like singing in the childrens choir, dance, and mime. As she got older, she began singing on the praise team and choir at church until graduating high school. When she arrived at A&T, she continued to serve at a local church in Greensboro where she joined the college praise team, and choir. She also joined the A&T Fellowship Gospel Choir where she continues to serve.
