
Self-motivated Director of Operations well-versed in Ambulance leadership. Bringing top-level experience in directing all facets of ground ambulance operations. Successful at collaborating with consultants, area leaders and employees to streamline and strengthen processes, boost production and control costs. Highly organized, detail-oriented and safety-driven with solid record of accomplishment in meeting business targets.
Provide immediate supervision of employees, stations, units and spare units in assigned area to ensure quality patient care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with local, state, national and Acadian Ambulance standards of practice.
· Supervises up to 40 EMT personnel, observing field personnel on emergency and non-emergency scenes.
· Coaches employees, providing professional and personal guidance, aimed at optimizing performance and morale.
· Oversees proper completion of all logs.
· Observes crew change and ensures smooth transition.
· Responsible for employee documentation and maintenance of the computerized employee profile system (i.e., commendations, counseling’s, attendance, incident reports, etc.).
· Maintains 24 hour on-call status
· Staffs openings and extra crews in area as needed.
· Monitors 02 levels at stations in assigned area.
· Ensures equipment is routed to appropriate units and stations.
· Monitors and reports on condition of mainline and spare units in area.
· Monitors refusals, on-scene times and All Safe driving reports and implements strategies with employees for improvement.
· Communicates policies, procedures and information appropriately and in a timely manner to employees.
· Monitors station maintenance.
· Participates in goal planning sessions.
· Participates in area disaster drills.
· Visit hospital and nursing home staffs to maximize relationships.
· Assists Operations Manager with corrective action, investigations and complaint resolutions.
· Monitors petty cash at assigned stations in the district.
· Monitors usage and storage of controlled substances.
· Facilitates a sprint shift report to district management.
· Attends staff meetings and may assist with facilitation of such.
· Represents Acadian at occasional public meetings.
· Responds to calls as a first responder when necessary.
· Periodically rides third person with assigned employees.
· Responsible for the daily schedule and making sure all openings are filled.
· Responsible for Level 2 approval of all area timesheets/correcting errors/investigating erroneous entries/educating other Ops Supervisors on coding errors found.
· Monitors the daily HepB/TB/Blood Draw list and alerts other members when an employee on the list is working.
· Obtains copies of employee credentials.
· Alerts employees who have not taken the mandatory monthly CBT.
· Assists with various ambulances needs for urgent items out of the main station supply room.
· Assists with standby preparation/organization, and sets up demos/standbys in the crew scheduler.
· Monitors football game needs and makes sure Fleet Maintenance is notified about ambulance needs/prepares gear and narcotics for the oncoming crew.
· Assists with schedule changes and organization of daily unit adjustments/needs. Obtains signatures on assigned documents.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Provide evaluation, training and auditing activities that promote improved patient care and safety compliance for EMS personnel.
