I took my underground red hat class in March 2023. I worked for Tygart Contracting for 4 months and then got hired on full-time at Blue Creek Mining LLC by Blackhawk Mining. Got my underground black hat card in September 2023. My main job was outby utility/belt man and frequently made mechanical splices and vulcanized. I filled in on move crew when they needed help/someone wasn't there. Can build stoppings, move belt and power, operate scoop safely and affectively, weld, set belt heads and take-ups, along with other skills. I work well and get along well with others and pick up fast on new things.
