Southern New Hampshire | August 2021 - August 2022

• Developed a Deep Q Neural Network (DQN) program in Python in which an agent learns to solve a maze provided by OpenAI by taking the shortest path. The agent uses Q-learning and exploration/exploitation to navigate its environment, then uses the neural network to record its experiences, win rate, and determine a policy that informs its next move. Libraries used were from Keras/Tensorflow.
• Developed the prototype for a smart thermostat using an I2C, UART/data transmission, and GPIO button functionality. The CC3220S board engages the thermometer, takes a reading, and uses a timer driven task scheduler to routinely check and update the program, deciding whether to enable or disable the "AC unit".
• Developed an Event Planner application for Android mobile devices that implemented the core features of the Calendar and the Reminders app. Of the features included, there is a login screen on startup, a primary calendar view, an optional weekly view, screens for both creating and editing events, and an alert system.
