- This job served as an opportunity for me to learn about the retail world and ultimately helped me assimilate to a new country. It instilled and cultivated many valuable attributes such as persistence, resourcefulness, reliability, and communication. after a month on the job I was promoted from sales associate to team lead. with this role I was responsible for opening/closing the registers, keeping stock of clothing, cleaning the store and helping direct sales associates when possible.
