  • Began work in 2023 with the 767 Wing Majors Lower Panel crew assembling shear ties, stringers, and the struts.
  • Select proper hand, power and bench tools; drill motor, huck puller, lock bolt puller screw drivers, pliers, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable tools and band saw.
  • Support engineering dispositions, research and development. Rework included; repair cracks in panels, repair and smooth out scratches in surfaces, and repair bad holes.
  • One year and counting supporting the role of a bar line mechanic documenting any nonconforming materials, hardware, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Rework and/or fabricate Struts, Spars, Ribs, Panels
  • Use prints and specifications to make primary layouts, locate station lines, index points and establish exact locations of installations and/or component parts.
  • Use technical specifications, sketches, manuals, drawings, engineering instructions and publications to accomplish work assignment.
  • Interpret and perform to the requirements of engineering drawings, service bulletins, service letters and other approved/accepted data.
  • Apply applicable mathematical calculations to setup and use precision measuring tools, to measure gaps, heights, angles, hole diameters and depths.
  • Align parts to tool stops, matching pilot holes or by hand layout and secure in place using tooling/hand clamp checking for good edge margins and alignment.
  • Set up drill guide in place and begin to drill holes in preparation for fasteners and brackets ensuring proper tolerance levels.
  • Select drills, reamers, taps and countersink/counter bore for pilot and full size holes. Drill and tap holes in parts for attach bolts and drill and ream holes for dowels.
  • Insert bolts using a pneumatic rivet gun; apply collar nuts to fasteners/bolts and tighten with special torque wrench to begin installation of strut side load fittings.
  • Work with Crane Crews in loading process to setup inline bore tooling. Honing and installation of bushings.
  • Operating overhead cranes to locate and index tooling required to drill the strut fittings and surrounding assemblies.
  • Fabricating shop aids,fillers and modifying tools to complete work.

  • Responsible for matching colors, pressure washing, preparing surfaces and paint application.
  • Use of hand sanders, masking, brushing and rolling trim, back rolling walls and ceilings, caulking, spackling.
  • Spray and/or brush required when primer necessary to accomplish work assignments.
  • Perform rework and touch up painting, both spray and brush per customer expectations.
  • Coordination of planning and prep work in an efficient manner, while also communicating with clients to ensure they get the look they’re anticipating.
  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at waist, reaching, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting while lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling heavy equipment.
