Summary

Art Conservation Technician and Collections Care Specialist with ten years hands-on work in the field in both lab and on-site settings. Relocated to Los Angeles from Philadelphia in September of 2020, and again to the Bay Area in 2023. Looking to continue working in the realm of cultural heritage and stewardship, art conservation, art historical research and cataloguing, and/or art handling and transportation. Collections Care Specialist / Technician

Onboard, inventory, and assess the condition of collections upon arrival to the studio.
Interface with private clients and institutional representatives regarding treatment proposals, treatment progress, and completed treatment summaries and invoicing.
Liaise with Art Handlers regarding transportation of works to and from the studio. Facilitate the transport of batches of artworks when working through a large scale disaster remediation.
Facilitate multidisciplinary conservation treatment of a variety of art media including works on paper, paintings on canvas, textiles, furniture, sculpture, and decorative objects in order to preserve cultural works for future generations.

Research every item within the decorative arts and furniture category included in upcoming auctions in order to identify, date, describe, and contextualize the lots in the resulting catalogue.
Write brief yet informative descriptions based on the afore-mentioned research for each item in the auction lot. Perform multipart proofing of each catalogue in order to ensure correct spelling, grammar, and cohesiveness of voice prior to digital publication on bidding platforms.
Interface with potential bidders via phone, email, and in-person communication. Answer inquiries about the catalogued lots.

Facilitated and assisted in the condition reporting, prescribed treatment, and subsequent treatment reporting of artworks on paper needing conservation.
Prepared necessary materials for conservation treatment and/or conservation appropriate mounting for framing. (e.g. cooking wheat starch paste, Japanese paper hinges)
Aided in all preparatory stages for framing from mounting/hinging the artwork, to cutting mats on a computerized mat cutter, to inserting spacers, and lastly, fitting the artwork.
