Place IV catheters, prep surgical suite, prep patients using sterile technique, monitor patient while under anesthesia and make anesthetic adjustments as needed, assist surgeon using sterile technique throughout surgery. Manage pets recovery to ensure they are as comfortable and pain free as possible. Review chart to be sure all treatments are documented. Discharge patients to owners with thorough instruction. Log anesthetic agents used in controlled substance log. Maintain surgical instruments and equipment including anesthesia machine, oxygen system, autoclave, EKG monitor, CO2 monitor, blood machines and digital X-ray machine.
