As a EMT/PCT I was responsible for working closely with Doctors and Nurses to help patients receive immediate medical treatment. My duties include monitoring a patient’s vital signs; including blood pressure and heart rate, updating loved ones’ on the patient’s condition and assisting Doctors and Nurses during procedures (e.g. removing objects from the skin, or wrapping and stitching wounds). This required me to work in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure. I worked cohesively with my team and had the utmost respect for my patients and their families

Provided triage, first aid, and referrals to outside medical if necessary. Minimized the associate risk of injury through awareness, education and proactive engagement. Maintained all records of care provided to associates. Developed a first aid care plan for associates recovering from an injury, focused on injury improvement, including self-care instructions as needed. Facilitated and maintain the workers’ compensation and return to work process for associates with work related injuries. Provide daily activity logs and end of shift reports. Maintained a clean and orderly environment. Monitored and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained. Multitasked and exhibited exceptional time management skills. Maintained composure in emergencies and lead emergency response at the site.

Safely operate ambulance vehicles and monitored patient care with fellow EMT’s and paramedics. Practice safely within my scope of practice as an emt basic and readily help others as needed. Able to give report to nurses and doctors and work with staff to ensure the safety of my patients and others.

Worked as an emt basic in the Presbyterian Emergency Room. Duties included triaging patients, wound care, splinting, EKG monitoring, patient care and comfort, IV and drug monitoring, strong communication with doctors and nurses, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. These tasks always followed patient and coworker safety at all times and all around being flexible and available to help with any task needed of me.
