Personal Testimony
I was raised in a Christian home and at the age of ten, during Vacation Bible School, I understood from the preacher that I was a sinner and that I needed to have my sin forgiven. I knew I needed Christ to wash all my sin away and that I needed Him to forgive me and to save me in order that I might live with Him in Heaven for eternity. So, on a summer's night in July 1988, I received Christ as my Lord and Savior. I have never been the same since. The following December 25th 1988, I followed the Lord in Believer's Baptism and took my first step in obedience for the Lord. In December of 1992 while at a Christmas banquet, at the age of fourteen, I received my calling to preach and proclaim the marvelous Gospel of Christ and for full-time evangelistic ministry. As I finished my undergraduate education, God put on my heart the institution that I would attend to receive my seminarian education, which was Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. So in 2002, with my wife/ helpmate, we traveled and set up residence in the city of Wake Forest to further my calling. God has given me the passion to preach His Word and my goal in life is to accomplish that task, which is to 'Preach the Word'. My prayer is that the passion that God has given me for the preaching of the Gospel will remain fiery and fresh since He called me into the ministry. In adding to my testimony, the greatest hardship I faced was the passing of my wife, friend, ministry partner, and the mother of my son. I can honestly state that God was with me every step of that journey. I watched Rica's faith in Jesus inspire and move people to action for Jesus. I believe because of her faith and dedication to Jesus, she is still impacting my ministry today. She is impacting it because now I can minister to people who are suffering and who are dealing with the loss of a spouse or loved one. I fully know and understand how they feel and how they are hurting and due to my experience I can minister to them and for them in ways others cannot. God is truly GOOD.
Doctrinal Statement
As a preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, I hold an extremely high view of Scripture, believing the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant, plenary Word of the Living God (2 Tim. 3:16). With regard to missions, I believe it is the responsibility of every single believer in the body of Christ to do evangelistic mission work, which is telling people about Jesus. I also believe Southern Baptist churches should support and cooperate with their local associations, state conventions and with the national Southern Baptist Convention's Cooperative Program, which includes the IMB and the NAMB. I fully support and affirm the latest version of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, wholeheartedly. I also fully support and endorse 'The Nashville Statement' as put forth by the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.
