All general duties and responsibilities associated with being a Master Peace Officer in the State of Texas applied in a setting of an institution of higher education (job qualification required a minimum of 20 years experience as a Peace Officer from a major metropolitan city.)
Qualifications include 30+ years of experience, a Master Peace Officer License, Field Training Officer, Off-Duty Jobs Manager, and Licensed TCOLE Instructor.
Review and assign an average 100 traffic offense cases a month. Initiate an investigation and pursue to final disposition from the office if possible. Using a wide range of investigative techniques and resources including state and federal databases, paid investigative subscription databases, surveillance video systems, license plate readers, interviewing techniques, etc. Dispositions may range from closing due to lack of leads, leads being exhausted, civil agreements being made, or criminal charges being filed. Assigning field follow-ups to investigators on cases I am unable to close from the office.
Responsibilities include the investigation, analysis and reconstruction of vehicle collisions including single and multiple vehicle collisions, cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. Services include damage analysis, speed estimates from damage, roadway friction analysis, time and distance relationships, vehicle lamp analysis, occupant kinematics, vehicle dynamics, perception and reaction time, and traffic signal timing analysis. Provide collision scene evidence analysis and forensic mapping of collision sites and vehicles. Provide download and analysis of crash and airbag data from passenger and commerical vehicles.
Responsibilities included managing traffic control crews and maintenance of traffic control devices (temporary and permanent) as well as investigating accidents withing the project limits for the LBJ Express Project on IH 635 in north Dallas.
