Sean Wilchek

La Porte,TX

Summary

I do not have an associates or a bachelors degree, but I have experience, exposure, and Been a part of the Barbers Hill 4-H Shooting Team for the last 10 years. I managed the club from 2018-2022, and still currently the Booster Club President since 2019. Both of my children, Chailey and Dason Wilchek were very strong shooters and we made many connections in the shotgun shooting industry. Both of my kids won the title of 4-H State Champion in their respective age groups. We traveled to many venues around the United States chasing the regional events and I watched and learned how these events were ran. I also coached a strong 4-H shooter on our team, Logan Lotz, who was part of another SCTP program since we did not have one. He went to Nationals and did very well there.

While I was traveling around the United States with my children, we made many connections and I still speak with many like Cole Fine Guns and Gunsmithing, Able Ammo, Rhino Chokes, Zachary Kienbaum, Desirae Edmunds, Cory Kruse, Bryan Buzzi, and many others. All of these I can call them and have a conversation if I need need to.

In 2018, I started the Southeast Texas Scholarship Spectacular, with just an idea that my daughter and I had. The past two years, 2022 and 2023, this has become one of the biggest youth scholarship shoots in the State of Texas with the event giving back right at $130,000 to kids from all over the State.

I learned how to reach out to, speak to, and work with sponsors. I learned that it is also giving just as much back to the community that makes this event successful. With keeping that mindset in play, I was able to grow this event from and idea to a monster in just 4 years. We even had a very strong year during the Covid epidemic.

I try very hard to be an encouraging manager and analytical problem-solver, leading and motivating, as well as excellent customer relations aptitude and relationship-building skills. I like to think that I am proficient in using independent decision-making skills and sound judgment to positively impact company success. I am very dedicated to applying training, monitoring and morale-building abilities to enhance employee engagement and boost performance. Happy employees, participants, clubs, and sponsors keep them wanting to engage and be a part of something. There has to be a end game for everyone, just not the benefitting entity. This is what I believe keeps a program growing and continuing success.
