  • Always volunteered to stay late and work holidays
  • My starting pay was $11.00 hr & ending pay was $14.50
  • At Coca Cola I worked in a non air conditioned facility
  • I was on the day shift working 8-14 hours a day,
  • Monday-Friday
  • A normal workday began with a daily meeting followed by group stretching
  • By 7:25am
  • I was on the floor selecting cases
  • We used a Vocollect headset and Crown EPJ
  • I used my athleticism to my advantage to reach production rates up to 215%
  • In doing this it encouraged my co workers to work harder and some days we would finish our work a hour and a half early
  • My pallet audits always were below 3%, meaning I was never penalized for miscounts
  • We were payed an incentive to keep our "mis -picks" to a minimum
  • Working in the warehouse heat was the toughest part of the job, this is what eventually led me to voluntarily resign.

  • Helped stay and clean the warehouse floors after every shift
  • Safety was #1
  • Worked in the freezer whenever the supervisors asked for volunteers
  • Assisted forklift drivers clean up any fallen pallets
  • South Star was one of the most challenging places I have been employed at
  • I worked the night shift in the cooler
  • Most of my days I worked in the produce section
  • The days were long and most of the time we were understaffed, none the less I always gave each shift my all
  • We used a headset and EPJ with some forks over 96 inches
  • A lot of aisles were narrow, especially working with forklifts
  • The traffic was always an issue but these were just the obstacles I had to overcome to get my production to at least 105%
  • Working in these conditions I always kept safety my number one priority
  • Patience was a must to ensure that I caused any no accidents
  • I had great work relationships with many of my co workers
  • We had a sense of team work not found at a lot of warehouses
  • This was the biggest help to getting the job done in a timely manner.

  • Received 3 different raises during my time of employment
  • Always worked any OT that was asked
  • Worked alongside my superintendent to get a new warehouse up and running
  • Gained key communication and social skills with promotion
  • Worked in Produce, Meat & Dairy
  • At the Tom Thumb Distribution Center I worked the night shift in the perishable department
  • I had 9 weeks to meet the 100% standard and every week i met the expected rate
  • This was my first warehouse job and i took notes and advice from all of my managers and supervisors
  • My attendance was very good and I enjoyed coming to work
  • I drove an electric pallet jack and used the Vocollect pick system
  • I fell in love with the job and took pride in my work
  • Most weeks I'd be competing with the fastest selectors, and soon became in the top tier of selectors at the warehouse
  • Six months in and I was a trainer for all the new hires
  • I developed great social skills because of how many people I met each week
  • I was a excellent selector and enjoyed working for Tom Thumb.
