Summary

Sebastian is the son of Eastern Block refugees that were granted citizenship in the United States to escape the violent and oppressive communist regime in Romania. At a young age, Sebastian learned the value of hard work and freedom as he experienced the sacrifices made by his parents to escape oppression and build a new life in America. The experience shaped Sebastian into the man he is today. Sebastian still speaks his native language of Romanian and views his background as a motivation to excel at what he does. Sebastian has nearly a decade of experience in IT support and troubleshooting. He has proven his ability to be successful at problem solving and he takes pride in ensuring that complex systems run smoothly.   • During his time at Cox Communications, Sebastian has become a key player not only with his peers but also within his department. In his Network Engineer role, he configures, and tests network equipment as required: (3400/3750 Cisco switches, Cisco ASR-9K, 7609 Cisco routers, 2430 IAD’s, AS5400 Voice Switches, Juniper MX-80, Fujitsu 4020/4100/4500, Nortel Access Nodes, Cisco ONS 15454/15310/15600, Alcatel-Lucent). Works extensively with provisioning wide area networks (WAN) that include P2P (EPL), hub and spoke (EPLAN). Sebastian provisions services and protocols that include BGP, OSPF, MPLS, MLS, SONET, and DWDM.
  • Sebastian works daily turning up OSPF access rings and migrating them to ISIS rings. He configures BGP on the core network and collaborates with customers on BGP turn-up and troubleshooting. He works daily on the MPLS network, configuring and resolving issues across all aspects of the infrastructure, including carrier services and core-related problems. He is experienced in configuring Cisco switches and Wi-Fi access points to support reliable, scalable environments.
  • Sebastian works extensively within a Nokia environment, including daily hands-on configuration and troubleshooting with the Nokia 7750, 7210, and 7705 platforms. He builds both baseline and service configurations, and works closely with field technicians to install, turn up, and troubleshoot outside plant (OSP) network issues. He also brings valuable experience working with Juniper equipment, further strengthening his multivendor network expertise.
  • Additionally, Sebastian has direct experience with Nokia DWDM equipment, including the installation and turn-up of DWDM services using the Nokia PSS-16, PSS-8, and PSD-10 platforms. This includes configuring and validating optical paths, troubleshooting layer 1 transport issues, and coordinating closely with transport teams for successful service delivery.
  • He interacts with Sales Engineers, Project Engineers, Access Engineers, and customers to meet turn-up/install dates for new services. He also collaborates across all network service operation departments to troubleshoot outages, and networking issues and supports field technicians with migrations.
