During my time at Messer, I was responsible for operating a multi-million dollar global helium plant that is monitored by the federal government. I maintained a safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a chemical manufacturing process in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. My daily tasks included, but were not limited to, the following: Preventative and corrective maintenance, increased overall productivity with effective communication between team members and various departments, reduced equipment downtime through regular maintenance checks and swift troubleshooting, collaborating on cross-departmental projects for improved operational performance and resource allocation, playing a crucial role in emergency response planning, and minimizing impact on business continuity during unforeseen events. A Messer Operations Technician is a hands-on position requiring efficiency in both computer/instrument operations and mechanical maintenance. I received numerous industry certifications while employed by Messer.

Agent/Operator

Amarillo Police Department
06.2005 - 07.2022

During my career at the Amarillo Police Department, I served in numerous capacities. I successfully graduated the 74th Amarillo Police Academy at the top of my class. I, along with one other fellow classmate, attained the highest academy score on the state licensing exam. After graduation, I became a patrol officer and began learning my profession. After 4 years, I was selected to attend Field Training Officer School. This was designed for the select few since training new officers is so vital. I successfully completed the program and began training new officers after they graduated. Furthermore, I was selected to attend the state’s instructor school. I successfully completed this school and began teaching my fellow officers and the new recruits in the Amarillo Police Academy. My supervisors began utilizing me in a supervisory role during their absence. I was responsible for all critical operations and the safety of all officers while I was in command. I began attaining numerous certifications at the direction of my supervisors. They believed I was destined for a particular career path and I began pursuing that path. I promoted to the rank of Corporal and finished second on the promotional test out of 70 plus applicants. I was then selected to the Crisis Intervention Team. I responded to all crisis situations regarding suicidal and mentally disturbed individuals. I was responsible for quickly resolving issues by utilizing excellent verbal communication skills. The objective was to converse with these individuals instead of utilizing force and escalating the situation. I was successful in my endeavors while on the team. I was then recruited by a midnight patrol supervisor. He desired an experienced Corporal to help run and maintain his squad. I accepted the offer and was utilized in numerous capacities. I assisted in training, supervising, mentoring, and helping younger officers. I was also tasked with assisting troubled officers when needed. I conducted this task for several midnight patrol supervisors that commanded different squads. In 2019, I was assigned to the Riot Team by the team commander. In July of 2020, I finished first in the selection process for the Special Operations Covert Tactical position. I attained the rank of Agent. This is a highly coveted and highly regarded position. Very few individuals have been selected for this position throughout the history of the APD. My day to day operations consisted of covert and tactical police work. Split second decisions regarding life and death were common and the ability to make critical decisions was necessary. Furthermore, I was tasked with supervising the unit often. I was responsible for my team members and the safety of the community. July 31, 2022 marked my retirement. I promised to give Law Enforcement my full dedication for 20 years. I accomplished this and then some. For over 21 years I proudly served our community. I enjoyed every moment and I look forward to the next chapter.
