I enjoy expressing creativity and confidence in teaching visual art. Inspiring young minds to be confident and creative with all they do in life is one of the best parts of teaching. In 2018 I integrated discipline, literacy, and writing skills into art lessons. In the past two years, I have focused on using stations and choices to allow students to tailor their art-making, allowing all levels of students to be successful. Adept at integrating culture and technology into productive classroom settings of up to 32 students, using stations and choice, allowing students to tailor their personal art-making goals.

Re-established NAHS art club after Pandemic at SE Raleigh High School, increased membership from 6 students to 40 students in 4 years. Won Guilford County Parent Teacher Association Teacher of the Year award in 2019. $4200 of donations and grants raised over four school years for my classroom. NCDPI presenter 2017. "Artists who Teach" TAG art Galleries 2017. TAG art galleries show for my high school students annually, six years. Founded NAHS club at Dudley high school. Nominated as Arts Educator of the Year in 2016, Rookie

Teacher of the year in 2014, and as Teacher of the year the past seven years. My student won Gold Key in the Scholastic art and writing competition, and Gold medal in the Congressional art competition, which permitted his winning piece to hang in the Cannon tunnel in Washington DC for a year. Taught Perspective drawing teaching strategies to Interior Design Teachers for NCDPI CTE dept. GCS Teach-Meet Presenter, GCS-ACT retreat presenter.
