
I retired in December 2023 after 30 years in the Animal Services field. I started at Seminole County Animal Services in 1997, left for 1.5 years to work in corrections then returned in 2005. I am very proud of my career in animal services. I feel as though I helped a lot of animals to live the last years of their lives in better and more loving homes.
Investigate complaints of animal cruelty/neglect, impound animals into protective custody when warranted and monitor their well being, write reports, issue citations, work closely with law enforcement, testify in court for prosecution
Supervise field officers, dispatchers and cruelty investigators. Work on call duty. Maintain inventory of required equipment. Responsible for scheduling the staff I supervised to ensure proper coverage in all areas
Respond to all types complaints from citizens regarding animals. Work on call duty as assigned. Enforce county ordinances. Maintain all equipment used. Fill in for other areas of the kennel/office when needed
In my experience with animals I have learned how to read them I work well with people and their pets and understand the bond between the two I was certified as a Animal Services Officer and Euthanasia Tech I was certified in Chemical Capture and well as being a certified Cruelty Investigator
