As the Literacy/Multi-Cultural Coordinator, I was able to bring my 25 plus years of Early Childhood Educaton experience and share it with children, families, and staff in a new capacity. On a weekly basis, I have planned and implemented age-appropriate Literacy activities for each classroom of QBHS/EHS. I have had the opportunity to share materials, offer advice, and be an advocate for our students and teachers. I have facilitated several cultural learning opportunities.
While in this position, I have filled in for the absence of supervisors. Also, on two occasions, I was asked by our Education Manager (who oversees the entire Education department at QBHS/EHS) to step in to her role in her absence.
I began my work at QBHS/EHS as a Teacher. I brought 20 plus years of Early Childhood Education teaching experience.
My duties included planning and implementing age appropriate activities for my class of early learners. I quickly became familiar with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold. On a daily basis, I provided a safe, nurturing, learning environment for children and families. I built trusting relationships with my children, families, and co-workers. I became part of families' team to provide quality care and learning to their children and assist with their child getting that head start necessary to be productive learners throughout their education.
