From line cooking to forklift operations, I have experienced a lot, yet I have so much to learn in this world. I want to offer my eagerness for new information and experiences in a new workplace and find a clearer definition of what the job stands for and provides for this world. Yet my jobs may have a limiting factor to them; I don't want them to outshine my spirit and drive. I am ready for new environments and possibilities in the workforce, and I am ready to put my skills to the test for whatever the job may call for.
I set up food trays daily for the specified resident diets. Paying close attention to diet restrictions and preparing food exactly how the patient requires. I prepared foods, including fruits, salads, and beverages, while maintaining a clean, well-stocked workplace at all times.
When I wasn't working in the kitchen preparing food orders, I interacted with the residents, inquiring about how they enjoyed their food and what they would like to eat the next day. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the residents, and having a quick conversation about food always made them happy, which in turn fulfilled me with joy and satisfaction in my work.
Being a custodian while working for Quality Brands (of the Black Hills) offered me a wide variety of experiences.
I maintained cleanliness throughout the entirety of a warehouse and office setting.
My daily routine consisted of sweeping floors, utilizing a floor scrubber, clearing pallets of plastic to be used by night pickers, vacuuming offices, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, breakrooms, and repack areas.
I was also assigned miscellaneous tasks, as well such as picking customer orders using a pallet jack and/or forklift, moving product from trucks with a forklift, yard work such as lawn mowing and weed eating, driving box trucks to take excess trash to the dump, and many more tasks.
This job gave me experience in not only custodian work but also forklift operations, box truck operations, lawn care, and customer service.
This job influenced my work ethic strongly and my urge to learn new tasks and operations.
I started working at Burger King when I was just 15 years of age. I started working in the back, operating the broiler and doing dishes, but quickly moved up the ranks, earning the respect of my managers and co-workers.
As of 2023, I completed my ServSafe test and acquired the role of a Shift Leader/Supervisor. I worked mostly closing shifts with another manager on weekdays and day shifts during the weekends, maintaining a motivated and committed work community among my co-workers.
I knew every role under the sun at Burger King. I kindly interacted with troubled customers to resolve issues, took orders, and fulfilled orders to customers' liking. When I worked closing shifts, I, alongside another co-worker, cleaned the entire building thoroughly in preparation for the following morning.
From making sandwiches and working the fryers to deep cleaning the broiler and fryers, I did it all at that establishment. It was a great experience day in and day out, and I am grateful for the time I got to spend in the environment at a young age. It not only provided me with experience in customer service and fast food work, but it also provided me with the strong and ever learning work ethic I carry on today.
I worked on the line daily, mainly working on the grill and the flattop. I prepared meals featuring seasoned chicken, cooked-to-your-liking steaks, baby back ribs, shrimp, hamburgers, and sautéed vegetables.
I worked during busy dinner rushes and exceeded my manager's expectations given my young age.
I enjoyed cooking meals for people; it gave me the feeling of being able to spread my love in the form of delicious meals.
