Police Lieutenant

Summary

I am currently a Lieutenant with the Lawrence Police Department. I am assigned to the Patrol Division, where I am in charge of the Early Night (Second) shift. In my 29 years of law enforcement, I feel as though I have developed in-depth communication skills that focus on dealing with diverse personalities in a positive manner.

I played football hockey and baseball at Lawrence high school from 1986 to 1990. I was a captain on all my teams senior year and was a multi All star selection in hockey and a solo all star selection in baseball. Upon graduation, I received the top male scholar athlete award otherwise known as the Cregg Medal.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Salem State University and a Master's degree from Western New England college, both in criminal justice.

I have coached baseball in the Town of Windham, for twelve years. I've coached all levels, from Tee ball to High School. I also ran a non profit AAU team, called the 'Warriors' for years, consisting mostly of town kids. I was as an assistant coach on the Windham High School freshman baseball team in 2021.

I've coached hockey for thirteen years at Top Gun in Salem. I've coached at all levels, from 'Learn to Play' hockey to, U18, where I am currently.

With my thirteen years of coaching experience, I have learned to deal with both parents and children, in handling some of the the most sensitive situations. Through my extensive law forcement and coaching experience, I feel as though, I have developed exceptional administrative skills, dealing with budgets, allocation of resources and Officer/player staffing issues.

Specifically relating to coaching, I have drafted, selected

and constructed teams from the ground up. I hired my own coaches and managed rosters every year.

In all, I feel as though I have the ability to reach kids on a personal level and foster relationships with them which makes the team fun and exciting. I believe in motivation through positive enforcement. I believe in hard work, discipline and most of all, fun, so that these kids can get the most out of their four year high school experience.
