  • Performs analysis/diagnosis and final alignment of multiple subassemblies, assemblies and components used in electronic systems of the Patriot Missile System and associated equipment.
  • Uses a broad extensive knowledge of electronic principles and theory to certify, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify and adjust a wide variety of complex guided missile components and related devices including electronics guidance system integration.
  • Uses an extensive knowledge of electronic intergraded missile system design to recommend and/or design modifications to improve operating efficiency.
  • Performs calibration, maintains and operates missile system test consoles and other electronic equipment being used in the repair of the missile guidance system.
  • Performs Engineering Change Orders/Modification Work Orders requiring extensive use of publications, procedures and schematics.
  • Instructs other personnel on the hydraulic, electronic and mechanical total integrated guided missile system in job/shop situation.
  • Used and maintained trade tools such as wire strippers, drills, files, soldering irons, compressors, sanders, bearing presses, spanner wrenches, and utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Integrated a variety of electronic equipment such as video cameras, closed circuit televisions, power supplies, pumps, motors, and optics, ensuring that the voltage, timing, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance permit optimum performance of the system, to clean equipment instrumentation and optics, and replace damaged parts.
  • Read and interpreted schematics and manufacturer's specifications; and ability to use physical dimensional reference standards to ensure compatibility.
  • Have operated portable or self-contained test equipment e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, spectrographs, pulse generators, functional generators, signal generators, power meters, precision measuring devices, computer monitor analyzers, DC power supplies, capacitor-inductor analyzers, and variable transformers to perform precise measurement of electrical and electronic quantities in relationship to voltage, impedance, reactance, attenuation, and loading; ability to diagnose and determine needed repairs for malfunctions in electronics systems such as weapons control where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate the deficiency.
  • Installed modifications and troubleshoot circuits and assemblies, and to securely mount components and arrange wiring to prevent electrical interference and other malfunctions, and troubleshot electronic equipment to localize defects, to follow voltage, current, and resistance paths, and traced signals through a variety of processing and amplification stages.
  • Applied a triage approach to equipment repair/replacement, to ensure within budgeted funding and cost constraints, work with remote entities to ensure network viability, and be able to use computer systems and software to maintain records, control documents, and maintained a proficiency in user level knowledge of a number of computer languages such as Unix, Windows, and Visual Basic.

  • Worked with 1.5 KW to 200 KW generators, gas or diesel engines, compressors, pumps, turbochargers, alternators voltage regulators, and other items of similar complexity.
  • Standard, routine, and repetitive tasks on major components working on minor and less complex system components performed independently after receiving appropriate training in methods, techniques, tools, and test equipment.
  • Used standard and specialized test equipment such as multi meters, power supplies, load banks, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore scopes in conjunction with technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to perform the following:
  • Activated engines/power systems in order to troubleshoot and diagnose units which were inoperable, not functioning properly, and failed to pass visual or specific tests.
