- This unit was an extension of the Emergency Department which was very fast paced, quick turnover on admissions, discharges and internal transfers. Critical nursing skills were required to closely monitor patients airway status, pain control and overall status. Charting skills, flexibility, being a team member, positive attitude and close communication with Doctors, staff and families were all skills used on this unit.

- Working on the Special Procedure Area unit I worked PreOp & PACU. This was a fast paced environment working closely with anesthesiologists, various other Doctors, staff and respiratory therapists. Airway skills were a must, pain control, charting and communication skills were required for this unit. I enjoyed the fast pace environment and pride myself in being flexible and being a team player.

- On this unit I performed Charge Nurse duties making assignments, attended staffing, worked resource nursing as needed, and stayed in close communication with the Doctors and families. I also had critical care 1:1 patients in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. This unit requires strong nursing skills including medi-port needle changes, central line care, hanging chemotherapy and blood products, pain management and comfort care.
