Behavioral Health Technicians provide and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. Duties include functioning as a member of treatment team and accept responsibilities for specifically assigned duties such as patient observation rounds, daily group therapy with up to 20 patients, suicide risk observation, management of milieu, assisting with behavior modification programs and care of patient’s daily activities and needs.
Youth Treatment Counselors are responsible for the implementation of a therapeutic milieu, facilitating multiple groups and individual treatment programs, creating Medical Administration Records, assisting with intakes and discharges, crisis management, case management duties as assigned, and the daily supervision and care of children in the residential cottages and classroom. Counselor responsibilities also include providing input at treatment team meetings, IEP meetings, and case worker meetings.
Behavioral Support Specialists utilize Applied Behavior Analysis with children in the elementary school setting. Behavioral Support Specialists collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school psychologists to develop and implement behavior modification programs for students in general and special education with maladaptive behaviors. This position works individually with children to provide counseling and in a group setting to promote positive behavior.
