I truly believe I would be a great asset to the firm for multiple reasons. First off, I am a fast learner, I know this position will require me to learn new skills and techniques, so I'm prepared and eager for it. I also have a small background in criminal justice as well as the law. My customer service skills are very professional and I'm a very goal-driven person. Don't let my age or experience turn you away, I know I will be as beneficial to your team, as you would be to me.
Teen Court: Participated in 2021-2023
- Teen Court is a program that gives minors a second chance to redeem themselves and learn the consequences of defying the law. While in teen court, I was able to be both a prosecutor and a defender for class C misdemeanors. As a defender, I had to review the case, talk to the minors in order to get an idea of what happened, and lastly, I presented myself as their lawyer. As a prosecutor, I had to really push the fact that the act the minor committed was wrong, I had to draw up questions and fight for as much of the sentencing as I thought was appropriate. The sentencing was only community service and fines but I still got to have a hands-on experience with what a courtroom is like and what it feels like to defend/prosecute a client, on a much smaller scale of course.
