During my time at the University of Toledo, I gained valuable experience working as a server and an ad runner for first aid at the Savage Arena sports area. In these fast-paced roles, I interacted with a wide range of customers, and ensured a positive experience. As a server, I took orders, delivered food and beverages, and met guests' needs efficiently with a friendly attitude. I also assisted with high-volume transactions, ensuring everything ran smoothly in a busy environment.
In addition to serving, I worked as an ad runner for first aid during events, where I supported emergency response teams, and helped implement safety protocols. This role required me to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and prioritize guests' well-being. These experiences helped me develop strong interpersonal skills, improve my multitasking abilities, and enhance my problem-solving capabilities in dynamic, customer-focused settings.
During my work experience at Charak Memorial Hospital, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was actively involved in providing comprehensive patient care in a high-pressure environment. My primary responsibilities included closely monitoring vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate, to detect early signs of deterioration. I assisted in administering medications, ensuring accurate dosages and timely administration, and provided direct patient care, including hygiene, positioning, and nutrition support. I had the opportunity to assist in various medical procedures, such as intubation for airway management, performing ECGs to monitor heart function, and helping with arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling to assess respiratory function. Additionally, I educated patients and families on post-surgical care, and communicated with patients to clarify diagnoses, prognoses, or treatment options. I also collaborated with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to address diverse patient needs and assist with care planning, ensuring adjustments were made to accommodate changing patient conditions. I actively administered medications and fluids according to care plans or physician orders. I conducted patient examinations to investigate the sources of symptoms and the patient's respiratory health through oxygen, assisted in intubation, and coordinated ventilator management. I also provided wound care based on the nature and severity of injuries, and I was involved in patient admissions and discharge coordination. Throughout my experience, I mentored and educated student nurses and healthcare professionals on best practices, documented patient symptoms, provided care, and relevant information using medical software, and ensured patient privacy and confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA protocols. I also participated in treatment planning and modified patient care plans based on patients' responses and conditions, ultimately ensuring high-quality care in critical emergency settings.
